I Need To Rant

There's something that's turned Orangebird from this

cartoon bird.gif to this!boyds.gif

Now I will gives you one hint, Bob, Julia, and Elizabeth are all proud citizens!

Boston Red Sox (Redsox Nation Logo) Sports Poster Print - 22

That's right Red Sox Nation is what I need to rant about. And specifaly the fact that they overtake Camden Yards. I have NO PROBLEM WITH THE FANS BEING SUPPORTIVE but it just makes me haywire. This angers since he remebers when Memorial Stadium was never called Fenway South or Fenway Park at Camden Yards. It's despicable that there are more Sox fans then O's fans in our own park!

despicable.jpg image by thenflchick

This needs to stop, andd here's how, we put a better team on the field. And right now we're doing that.

It's time make a Camden Yards a hostile enviroment like Memorial Stadium was, we need to show up and give our team support. I can't stand any more Fenway Park South and it needs to end now. We can't let red Sox Nation invade Birdland!

I've been ok with this the last couple years but now I'm getting sick of it!

That Was Fun

I had a fun time at Camden Yards Saturday!

#1- I got the Nick Markakis BP jersey. It not really authentic or anything close to that, it's kinda cheap. But still it's cool to get something like that!

#2- After the game was over the Jumbotron proceeded to play "Field of Dreams". It was very cool when they turned out almost all the lights. It was like the world's coolest outdoor theate!.

"You had "TOO" see it!"

I fell asleep right around the time Terrance Mann arrived in Iowa :(

Guess what??

"WHAT?"

Some of the players were actually watching the movie rather than going home!

"Man that's pretty cool"

#3- Matt Wieters Facts Night!

This was the best part of the night: getting to meet the left and right side of Matt Wieters facts brain!

"Who's who?

Ian is the right side, since he is a graphic designer! And Daniel is the left side he very big into stats.

We first swung by 5 or 10 minutes before the game. Funny story here I see some people wearing the sliced bread shirts.

Configuration ~ ~ 7295588

And I ask if they know where more Matt Wieters Facts people are and someone points to a person and he says something like "Hi I'm Daniel" As in Daniel Moroz the left side of MWF brain. He was very friendly we talked for several minutes. However I wanted my picture taken by Ian for the MWF Facebook page.

And he wasn't currently there, he was gettting autographs. Daniel recommended that I come by later. And that's what we did! The second time we came up Ian was present, he shook our hands and invited us to sit down. So we began talking about various things, we got to the t-shirts and how I had created a shirt for Pittsburgh Penguins announcer MIke Lange with some of his well-known calls on it. And Ian replies "Who's MIke Lange?" The Penguins (grin comes to my face) announcer. "NO NOT THE PENGUINS!!" He blurts out. That's right the Penguins!

flower with cup.jpg

So then we got to talking about the game and I asked if I could interview him. And we was like "You, want to interview me???" And he of course excepted the invitation.

So that really fun!!!!!!

#4- Matt Hobgood
He was there, introduced third or fourth inning what I like is that he still has braces!!!

This Is Going To Be Fun!

Game two of the Battle of the Beltways begins tonight! Woo Hoo, we get beat the Nats for fun!

Now what exactly makes this game so fun?

There's actually four reasons!

#1- Free Nick Markakis jerseys!

That's right free Nick Markakis jerseys

Only the one they are giving out are the black BP ones! Awesome

#2- Field of Dreams on the "Tron!

That's right Field of Dreams is going to be played on the Jumbotron!

Some of my favorite quotes

"If you build it, he will come."

*

"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come."

Shoeless Joe Jackson: Hey, is this heaven?

Ray Kinsella: No, it's Iowa.

*

Ray Kinsella: The voice is back.

Annie Kinsella: Oh, Lord... you don't have to build a football field now, do you?

*

Annie Kinsella: What if the Voice calls while you're gone?

Ray Kinsella: Take a message.
*

Shoeless Joe Jackson: The last two have been high and tight, so where do you think the next one's gonna be?

Archie Graham: Well, either low and away... or in my ear.

Shoeless Joe: He's not gonna want to load the bases, so look for low and away. But watch out for in your ear.

The Debate Part One

I've hatched an idea Cup half-full Jordan will argue against cup-half empty Jordan on various topics realted to the O's and you detremine the winner.

THE FARM SYSTEM

Full Jordan: The O's have one of the best farm systems in all of the majors, Brandon Synder, Jake Arrieta, Brain Matsuz, and Chris Tillman, Baseball America says the O's have on the best farm systems in the majors.

Empty Jordan: They were saying that a couple years ago about Hayden Penn, Liz, and Daniel Cabrera and none of them are of any use in the bigs any more. How do we know that's not going to happend with Arrieta, Matsuz and Tillman?

FJ: We don't. However that was an Orioles team that didn't have Andy McPhail monitoring everything, this team does Andy McPhail watching and making sure that when the get called up they are fully prepared for the majors. Take Brad Bergesun. He was called up and has made an immediate impact on team.

EJ: Just because you have a better GM doesn't mean that your prospects will magically be better, some people just can't handle the pressure of being in bigs, they can't adjust players that are better, faster, and stronger.

FJ: The thing is the GM does in a way make the prospects better by hiring a good coaching staff and making sure that players seem to be ready to handle the guys that are better ,faster and stronger. Our previous GM's weren't hiring good coaches and were rushing the kids up to the majors.

EJ: The key word is seem to be ready, you can't judge how Minor Leaguers will do in the majors until you put them up there. You cant gurantee anything.

FJ: This completly true. You can't gurantee anything. But the compontents are there for a great ballplayers.

And that's the end of the first debate

MLB 09: THE SHOW PS2 Review

MLB 09 is an excellent game. One of the biggest improvments for me was they have all this Cooperstown stuff. For example for The White Sox you play in these

or these

go go sox.gif

From the Go-Go Sox of the 50's

if you choose the A's you can wear these!

a's.gif

One of my favorites would have to the Astros!

45's.gif

There's also retro stadiums

and

(Crosley)

and

(Griffith)

and

(Shibe)

and

(Sportsman's)

Last but not least, All-Star teams!

There are two the Golden Era team- Cy, walter, George Herman, Jackie, ect..

Silver- Reggie, Seaver, Ryan, Morgan, Ozzie Smith.

There really isn't anything worth mentioning about the game play, average, same with the graphics. BUT I LOVE THE NOSTALGIA FACTOR!!

NOLAN REIMOLD

Nolan atteneded

File:BowlingGreenFalcons.png

Where he tore up the MAC! In his final season he batted .360 with 20 jacks and 60 ribbies. He won the MAC player of the year. Did I mention he hold about every hitit ng record in Bowling Green history!

His stats of course caught the O's eyes, and he was drafted in the second round of '05.

He immedetily began tearing up the minors.

He was named the top prospect in New York-Penn league. He lead the

in Homers and doubles. And he didn't play the whole season! He then was transfered to the

He hit .357 in the Keys playoff run and was a key player on that team.

He stayed in Frederick and in a recurring theme tore up the leaue with 19 homers and a .379 OBP.

Then he got promoted to Bowie and in '07 where he batted .306 and had .565 slugging average! And he hit 11 homers in 50 games! Meanwhile he hit 19 in Frederick and he played a hundred games!

He remained en fuego

File:Candleburning.jpg

Last season with Bowie were he hit 25 big ones and had 84 RBI's in 139.

For a portion of this season he was on the

Were he was a teammate of MW15

File:Matt Wieters on May 29, 2009 (1).jpg

He made his ML debut against KC on May 14th. he had a nimmediate test when in his first two games he had to face Gil Meche

File:Gil Meche.jpg

and Zach Grienke

File:Zack Greinke at Camden Yards.JPG

May 27th was when a lot more people knew his name. Bottom of the 12th, O's donw by one here comes Nolan Reimold, gues what he does.

Walk-off three run homerun!

Ztaknek told me that Nolan leads the league rookies in several catergories!

he looks to be a very promising left fielder who could be around for a long time!

A Petition!

I have petition to bring back

cartoon bird.gif

My petition's goal is 10,000 signatures! A lot I know, but I request that you e-mail this link to any baseball fan you know!

Yay School's Out (Oh Yeah Did I Mention The O's Won!)

That's right the school year is over! This calls for champagne!

"Non-alcoholic of course!"

To celebrate, TOO will encorporate some of my main subjects into this post.

Oh yeah did I mention the O's won in walk-off fashion babiiiiiieeeee!!!!

"Since when are you Dicky V?"

The Orioles drafted Georgia Tech catcher Matt Wieters with the fifth overall pick in the 2007 draft.

It starts by MW getting a double

"15 doubled is 30 and 30 doubled is 60!"

Then Reimold gets walked and now we have runners on first and second and here comes B-Rob and he hits a gronuder, and they try to get Pie (pinch running for MW) at third since he is the lead runner

Felix Pie slides safely into third, beating the throw to the Mets' David Wright in the bottom of the ninth.

"SSSSAAAAAFFFFFEEEEEE!!!!!!!"

Bases loaded AJ's batting, the Yard is up will he

A. get a base hit and tie the game

B. hit a walk-off ground slam

C. strikeout

D. get walked

"The answer is D!!!"

That's right he gets an RBI, via the walk! And the game is tied!

"YAY"

Now here comes The Greek God

zeuskakis.jpg

And he gets struck out looking!

Now here comes Aubrey Huff, lThursday's hero, and guess what he does!

Aubrey Huff (right) is mobbed by teammates after he hits a one-out RBI single in the bottom of the 9th inning to beat the Mets.

The picture says it all!

I know why the Orioles won last night, let me begin with a stat the O's going into last night's game were O-and-34 now why is the 34 so special? Wild Bill Hagy, the Roar form 34! Alos because I listened to some Orioles Magic before the game so that also helped, plus my MW shirt is lucky! The O's are 2-0 when I wear it!

Kevin Jewukilis

Kevin Youklilis was born in Cincy in 1979. Kevin has had many important achivements including Macher of Day honors multiple times, all-star first baseman, and having his nickanme echoed in Fenway Park.

Jewuk was born to a Jewish jewelry salesman, he atteneded the Cincy where broke almost every school hitting record. When the red sox drafted him in the 8th round of the draft.

As a prospect he was mentioned in Moneyabll calling the Greek God of walks. THis was the first the mainstream had head of him. In fact Billy made manny trades t oget the macher but Theo turned all of them down!

In 2006 he was part of the starting line up, then in 2007 he got better. I nfact on one occasion in the ALDS he hit a homerun and I spontainusley (sp) blerted out "YOOOOUUUUUK."

In 2008 he was voted to his first all-star a very important achivment for any player.

This year he has been red hot and he looks like he has a chance to be Macher of the year!

THE BEST O's NIGHT GAME EVER!!!!

Last night I had heckuva time at the Yard.

MATT WIETERS!!!!!!

He hit it! He hit it! Matt Wieters first home run was hit last night and I saw it and I CALLED IT!!!!!!!!

Matt Wieters hits his first major league home run, a two-run shot against the New York Mets.

"YOU DID?!?!?!?"

Let me explain, my dad said something similar to "C'mon Matt get your first RBI tonight!" I replied "How about his first RBI and his first homerun in this at bat" And bam the

(Tim Kurkijan called him that!)

Clobbers one out of the park! His first Hr and his first two RBI's. After all

"Thank you!"

Oh yeah did the mention Matt gave a curtain call!

Orioles catcher Matt Wieters tips his cap to the fans after hitting his first major league home run.

And got he free pie!

Matt Wieters gets two shaving cream pies in the face while during an interview after the Orioles' 6-4 win over the Mets. Wieters hit his first major league home run in the second inning.

"Y'know if I were Matt Wieters I would go after Adam!"'

It also just so happened that I was wearing MW shirt that I got on Sunday!

KOJI UEHARA

For the first time all season I got to see Koji pitch! he had a typical Koji outting: His pitch gets high quick and he comes out after 4 or 5 and then bullpen blows it!

Orioles starter Koji Uehara allowed seven hits and two runs in five innings, taking a no-decision in the Orioles' 6-4 win over the New York Mets.

"Does Dave hate Koji, it certainley seems like it!"

I don't like pitch counts!!!!!!!!! They mess up way to many outings!

ZEUS NICK MARKAKIS

zeuskakis.jpg

Nick Markakis had a great game, going 4 for 4! Infact this I really liked, there's was a guy with a Greek flag!

File:Flag of Greece.svg

He was in a slump but I don't think Nick got the memo!

I think the Greeks are so happy they're going to paint Zeus' temple orange!!!!

AUBREY HUFF

Aubrey gave us the lead on a two-run homer onto the flagcourt!

Aubrey Huff is congratulated by teammate Nick Markakis after his two-run homer in the seventh inning broke a tie at 4.

I GOT TO MEET THE METS

Well, I didn't get to litterally meet the Mets, how ever we did get to them stretch, and they were so close! I actually got to see K-Rod and he's short!! However I was surrond by Mets Fans!

"WOW, that's scary, mets fans all around you, almost as bad as Yankee fans!"

Overall an awesome night!

LET'S GO

Adam Jones Bobblehead Night!!!

Adam Jones Bobblehead

I'm going to be at the Yard toinght, and I'm getting an Adam Jones bobblehead. The family is getting there early to watch some BP.  What I really like about this bobble head is he's blowing a bubble and robbing a home run at the same time! A great bobblehead to add to my collection.

"Coolest bobblehead ever!"

Speaking A.J. and promos the Orioles have a new promo featuring A.J.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards is located at 333 West Camden Street, but this summer Orioles fans will have the option to reside

at 2110 Eutaw Street by taking advantage of a new ticket offer. The Orioles have combined the uniform numbers of two of their best young outfielders, Nick Markakis and Adam Jones, to re-identify an area of the Eutaw Street bleachers and give fans the opportunity to take part in a unique promotion.

For a number of pre-selected games, beginning with the game on Sunday, July 12, vs. Toronto, fans can purchase a Eutaw Street bleacher seat and a limited edition "I Live at 2110 Eutaw Street" t-shirt for only $21. In addition, Markakis and Jones will toss baseballs into the stands throughout the game, and for every home run hit by Markakis or Jones in that day's game, one lucky fan in the section will receive a bat autographed by the player who hit the homer.

I have to say the Orioles and producing some creative promos, like the two i have alreayd mentioned.

LET'S GO

IbELIEVE!!!!!.gif

Sammy's Juiced!

juiced sammy.jpg

I don't were to begin. Well actually I'm a little bit surprised by this. First A*Rod, then pregenant Manny and now Sammy. I ofically consider the race of '95 an asterik in the record books. Sammy was juiced, and I think Mark is juiced.

Are we done? Will someone please find a positive Big Mac test and get this over with. It's really starting to aggrivate me. Is there anyone else juiced out there so we can get this OVER WITH ALREADY!

Actually here's someone who I'm pretty sure is juiced

  pudge.jpg

PUDGE!!!!!!!!!!

Heres Why: one season he had 10 more homers and his BA went up 40 or 50 points and the next year the stas went back to the norm. Suspicous?

This does answer an important question. "Once Sammy signed with the O's he was terrible, why?"

Well this leads to a new question what does this

 juiced sammy.jpg

have that this

doesn't?

LADIES AND GENTLEMAN HE'S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Is the answer that orioles sammy doesn't have a syringe"

If you guessed what TOO guessed then you are correct! Sammy stopped juicing when the O's traded for him.

"Y'know the Cubs got Mike Fonta-no in that trade!"

This leads me to ask one thing? "How would the 2005 Orioles done if he was still juicing?"

"Pretty goood if you ask me, they proably wouldn't have choked"

You took the words right out of my mouth TOO! Some of you might remeber this team, they were on top of the Al East for 2 or 3 months and then the bottom fell out. And that the best they've been in those 11 losing seasons.

I'm curently having a angel-devil shoulder debate on rather I wanted him to still be juicing when he signed with us. The devil is winning!
